Worship Sun 24 July: 'Teach us to pray'

WELCOME/ 

Hello – and welcome to worship. 

Last week, we spent some time in the home of Mary and Martha, along with Jesus and some of the disciples, and listened as Martha got somewhat hot and bothered and distracted. Always a difficult thing to balance responsibilities with trying to make time to spend with God.

Today, we pick up on the theme of spending time with God, as we think about the prayer we say each week as a community: the Lord’s Prayer.

CHURCH NOTICES/

I’ll be on annual leave from Monday the 25th of July and back at work on Wednesday the 10th of August. During that time, onsite, worship will be provided by the Rev Bill Buchan, while any urgent pastoral care will be covered by the Rev Mike Fucella of Biggar Kirk - .

For any general queries... well this gets a little complicated, as a few folk are away...

Angela our community outreach work is also on annual leave until the 1st of August – should you need to catch up with her on any given project, hold off until she’s back.

In the meantime, don’t forget, we’re gathering up hymns for our songs of praise service on the 14th of August, so get your hymn nominations in and I’ll get them prepared when I’m back from leave.

And finally, just to note that evening worship in Leadhills Village Hall has been cancelled – but, we’ll be back to normal again in August when we’ll have a songs of praise from the hills as well as in the glen!
